Don't Just Assume That It Is Safe For Your Dog, Just Because It Says It Is A Dog Treat!!!!
Smoked ham bones can be dangerous to your dog's health. They HAVE caused death and major injury. Some companies are still denying this and claiming that their product is safe -- IF you follow all of the fine print on the product label. I followed that fine print and my dog, in the prime of her life, with no digestive issues, died.
It is sad that in this day, with our pets being part of our family, that they don't have more protection in the law. Congress talks about passing a tax deduction for our animal's veterinarian expenses -- why don't we get better regulation of their treats and food so we don't have those expenses to begin with?
My dog died from this product in September of 2008. I originally started this site to publish everyone's story. That has become difficult as there are so many of them and everytime I hear another one, I relive my loss.
I do believe that it is very important for the truth to be available to consumers, even if corporations won't provide it. It is very sad when the hunger for money overrides the health of our animals. It would be interesting to see what happened if these money hungry people lost one of their own beloved animals due to their product. I can't just let this cause go entirely. It is not only the Dynamic Pet Products product that kills and injures, it is every company that makes this type of bone. Hartz has written on their natural smoked bone product that it is to be chewed, not eaten. I guess that pretty much spells it out!
Below are some links that you can follow to learn about what consumers are saying about all natural smoked ham bones. Please learn all you can before you give your dogs such a treat. I would hate to hear that your dog would suffer the way mine did.
These links are links where people are telling their stories. We don't know the results of many of them, we can only hope for the best.
